It’s hard to believe, but Abbey Mobile Physio is celebrating its 2nd anniversary! What started as an idea for a flexible, personalised physiotherapy service has blossomed into something far more rewarding than I could have imagined. In this post, I’m reflecting on the journey so far and some valuable gained insights, as well as looking forward to what’s to come.
The Numbers Tell a Story
Since our company started in November 2022, we’ve seen over 400 patients—a wide variety of individuals with a diverse range of conditions. With 343 MSK and 68 rehabilitation patients, it has been a privilege to work with so many people.
Reflecting on my previous roles in the NHS, where I often focused on a specific set of conditions and patients, I realised how much I craved diversity in my work. Abbey Mobile Physio has allowed me to treat a wide spectrum of patients with different needs and challenges every single day, keeping things fresh and fulfilling every day.
What I’ve discovered over the past two years is that the individual care and personal connection with each client is what drives me—and it’s been incredibly rewarding to offer personalised, hands-on treatment that truly makes a difference.
A New Addition to the Team
In February 2023, we welcomed Lee, a highly skilled rehabilitation trainer with a background in personal training. Together, we’ve helped individuals achieve remarkable progress; walking again after being bed-bound, being able to access the upstairs of their house again and regaining the confidence to leave the house through reduced risk of falls.
Patients with wide-ranging conditions, from post-surgical recovery to long-term conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia, have seen life changing improvements. These success stories are what keep us motivated to continue in expanding our services.
Looking Ahead: Exciting Plans for 2025
The journey doesn’t stop here. Here are some things to look forward to in 2025:
Calling all Oxford residents: We’re excited to announce that we’ll be expanding our services into Oxford! As we do so, we’ll also be removing the mileage charges for clients within the city and anywhere between Oxford and Abingdon.
Growing our team: As demand increases, we’ll be hiring more rehabilitation trainers and physiotherapists to join us in providing the best care possible.
